What is a 3D rendering?
A 3D rendering is the result of a digital imaging
process used to create a 3-dimensional digital
image of your product using flat artwork files.
Models are created of the product, with shadows
and lighting added to give accurate perspective.
When should I use this service?
Our 3D Rendering service can be used whenever
you want a digital image of your product. It
can replace the need for a photographer and
can be created as soon as your artwork is ready
– no need to wait for the final packaging
to be printed. We create various file formats
from the master image, for both print and online
uses.
Can you render nontraditional packaging
such as bottles and cans?
Through our digital imaging services, we have
created incredibly realistic renderings of a
variety of “out of the box” packages,
including cans, bottles and CDs. If the artwork
exists, we can render it.
What kind of techniques should I consider
to make the images interesting?
We have a variety of techniques
at our disposal, including drop or cast shadows,
the use of angles to give a more accurate perspective,
hero shots to promote a specific product, and
more. It depends on the uses and goals of the
rendering. We can work with you to determine
the optimal effects for your use.
What kind of file does AppArt deliver?
AppArt can deliver any type of file you need
from the master rendered image – high-resolution
files for printing resolutions of 300 dpi or
above, such as EPS & Tif, or lo-res for
online use such as jpg, bmp or gif.
Can the images AppArt supplies be resized?
AppArt works with you to determine the standard
sizes most of your users would need so they
don’t have to resize. Choosing a high-resolution
file as part of your deliverables will allow
those to be scaled down to smaller sizes/resolutions.
What kind of files should we provide
you?
We can work with any type of art source/layout
files such as EPS, InDesign, Quark, FreeHand.
Even PDF. Just include the file, with the fonts
and links. That’s it! We’ll do the
rest.
